Drunk Christmas was amazing. My cheeks hurt from laughing so much. These people are amazing at improvisation. If you haven't done a drunken Shakespeare, you need to. Great humor.Posted on Google![]()

Absolutely Hilarious Night Out! We went to see Drunk Christmas Carol with the Drunk Shakespeare Society and it was so freaking fun from start to finish. They managed to blend all the classic Christmas stories into one ridiculous, clever, non-stop comedy show. The acting was fantastic, every performer was quick, sharp, and completely committed to the chaos in the best way. The staff was amazing too. Everyone was friendly, upbeat, and made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. You can tell they love what they do. If you want a night where you can laugh hard, enjoy something totally different, and feel like you’re part of the show, this is it. Highly recommend!Posted on Google![]()

Same team, new holiday tradition. Drunk Christmas Carol comes from The Drunk Shakespeare Society, the company that’s been getting one actor gloriously drunk and turning classics into chaos for over a decade. If you’ve seen one of our shows, you know the drill: real actors, real alcohol, and no two nights are the same. If you haven’t, this is a great place to start.
If you know Scrooge is grumpy and ghosts show up, you’re caught up. The jokes are modern, the references are pop culture, and the plot stays as clear as it can after five shots of whiskey.
Yes, really. One professional actor drinks five shots to start the show. The cast rotates who drinks each night, eats and hydrates beforehand, and gets a safe ride home. We take drinking responsibly seriously.
Not at all. The cast drinks so you don’t have to. There’s no drink minimum, and we’ve got mocktails delivered right to your seat.
Only if you volunteer. Sit in the back to watch, stage side to play, or take the throne to run the whole show.
90 minutes, no intermission, so your night is still young when it ends. Strictly 21+; everyone is ID’d at the door.Â
The Lion Theatre is at Wabash and Lake, steps from the Clark/Lake L station and Millennium Station. There are paid garages nearby, including 50 E Randolph; ParkWhiz usually has the best rates. Seating is first come, first served within your section, so give yourself a few extra minutes.
You’re a short walk from Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza, the State Street holiday windows, Millennium Park and the Maggie Daley Park skating ribbon. The show runs 90 minutes, so you’ll have time for dinner beforehand and a nightcap afterward.
Yes. The show, the bar and the entertainment are handled, drinks come to your seat, and it’s an easy walk from most Loop offices. Groups of 9+ save on tickets, and groups of 50+ can book the whole theatre. See group rates.
