ABOUT DRUNK CHRISTMAS CAROL

He's haunted by spirits... and drinking them too.

This holiday season, one actor takes five shots of whiskey and attempts an epic retelling of the greatest holiday story of all time… A CHRISTMAS CAROL!

When the season’s most eligible miser is visited by three ghosts, will he change his ways or get totally Scrooged? It’s a tipsy, twisted toast to the big Dickens himself and the season of spirits (the alcoholic kind).

Scrooge and Marley at Drunk Christmas Carol

FROM THE DRUNK SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY

Drunk Christmas Carol comes from the same company behind Drunk Shakespeare, which has been getting one actor gloriously drunk and turning classics into chaos for over a decade, and more than 7,500 performances. The formula is simple and a little dangerous: a cast of professional actors, a real bottle of whiskey, and a classic story that has no idea what’s about to happen to it.

The Society also presents Drunk Romeo & Juliet, Drunk Macbeth, Drunk Dracula in the spooky season, and Drunk Pirates for the booty chasers. If you’ve seen any of them, you know the drill. If you haven’t, the holidays are a great place to start.

HOW A NIGHT AT DRUNK CHRISTMAS CAROL WORKS

  • Arrive a little early. Doors open 15 to 30 minutes before showtime, and seating is first come, first served within your section.
  • Pick your seat. The theatre is set up in the round, three rows deep. Stage Side is the front row and closest to the action. Mezzanine is the second row and Balcony the third. One couple per night takes the hand-carved throne with the Royal Experience.
  • One actor drinks. Before the show starts, one of the five actors takes five shots. The cast rotates who drinks, so every night is unique.
  • Drinks come to you. Order cocktails and mocktails from your seat during the show. There’s no drink minimum, and a small selection of snacks is available.
  • 90 minutes, no intermission. Your night is still young when it ends.

FAQ

Is the actor really drinking?

Yes, really. One professional actor drinks five shots to start the show. The cast rotates who drinks each night, eats and hydrates beforehand, and gets a safe ride home. We take drinking responsibly seriously.

Not at all. The cast drinks so you don’t have to. There’s no drink minimum, and we’ve got mocktails delivered right to your seat.

Only if you volunteer. Sit in the back to watch, stage side to play, or take the throne to run the whole show.

It’s strictly 21+, and everyone is ID’d at the door. The show includes adult humor and sexual content, plus fog, haze and snow effects, strobe lighting and loud noises. If that sounds like your kind of holiday party, you’re in the right place.
